Zews resigns as Evil Geniuses coach

Wilton «zews» Prado has announced his departure from Evil Geniuses, with whom he has worked with for over a year. The Brazilian cyber athlete decided to leave the post of the head coach of the team on the eve of IEM Summer 2021, and at the championship Evil Geniuses will play without him. According to HLTV, this decision was made by mutual consent of the parties due to recent disagreements about how the team should develop.

Zews noted that he is not going to leave Counter Strike, as he likes this game, to which he devoted most of his life, and it is unlikely that this will change in the near future. He also mentioned in his statement that he is open to offers from organizations that share his values and want to find a coach willing to work hard for the team.

Under zews' leadership, Evil Geniuses  climbed to the No. 1 spot in the world rankings in September 2020 and won three regional championships, including the BLAST Premier Spring Americans Finals. Soon after, however, the team's results began to deteriorate as it struggled to compete with European opponents. After a string of defeats in recent months, she has dropped to 38th place in the overall rankings. Zews mentioned that working with the team in both successful and unsuccessful moments has been a meaningful experience for him.
