On April 9, the second round of qualifying for the ESL Pro League Season 11 Europe championship came to an end. The fnatic team took the lead and will eventually advance directly to the grand finals. The Swedish players managed to achieve this thanks to a win over Natus Vincere.
Meanwhile, Astralis managed to pick up a few wins after a poor start. Astralis, mousesports and Natus Vincere came to the end of the stage with the same number of losses and wins and therefore the same number of points in the standings. Therefore, to determine the leader, a tally of points scored on individual maps was used. NAVI, who performed the least well, found themselves in fourth place and withdrew from the tournament, while mousesports and Astralis will continue to compete. Also FAZE and OG, who could only get one victory each, failed to qualify for the group stage.
NAVI team captain Alexander «s1mple» Kostylev called the last performance at the tournament «disgraceful». Daniel «Zeus» Teslenko disagreed with such a harsh assessment. In his opinion, the team fought with dignity and until the last match looked the favorite of the competition. Either way, NAVI remains at the top of the HLTV rankings for now.
Astralis and mousesports will now face off in an elimination match on Saturday night. The winner of this game will face fnatic in the grand finals on Sunday.
