On the night of August 17, Valve published an update celebrating the tenth anniversary of the game's release. The main new feature is the updated map Tuscan, familiar to shooter fans since Counter-Strike 1.6. The redesigned map was already added to the game in the previous update, but it is now available in competitive mode as well. It should be borne in mind that Tuscan is not included in the Active Duty list, which means that its appearance at official matches is not worth waiting for.
Work on the remake of Tuscan was carried out for about two years, and the goal of the developers was to bring one of the most famous maps from 1.6 in line with a more modern level of graphics. The stylistics of the map reproduces the landscapes of the south of Italy.
This update also includes a capsule with holiday stickers selected through a contest among community members. From it can fall one of more than sixty brightly colored decorative items that players can use to decorate their weapons.
Interestingly, after the release of the update, the simultaneous online CS:GO exceeded one million for the first time since April 2022. It held steady at around 600,000 users over the summer months, but the anniversary update has clearly attracted new players and encouraged those who left the game for a while to return.
