XSET has signed the Originem women's team

American cybersports organization XSET has signed Originem – one of the most successful women's CS:GO teams. The team plans to move to the U.S. in early 2021. Originem had been without an organization for the previous year after it withdrew from Besiktas in early 2020. Despite this, the team has retained the – lineup, initially it competed under the WRTP tag and renamed Originem as of June 2020. It has been very successful, taking first place in three women's championships – Ambush Invitational, DreamHack Showdown Summer and Galaxy Racer Invitational.

With XSET, the team is looking to take the next step and start competing on par with the men's teams. One of the participants, Russian Anastasia «kr4sylya» Khlobystina, said she expects Originem will soon be able to show good results at the men's – competitions, if not on par with the top, then at the level of the second or third ranked teams. Previously, the team tried to compete at DreamHack Open Rotterdam, but not too successfully. However, the players believe that they need more practice with serious opponents and more opportunities to prove themselves.

Originem's first appearance in XSET will be at DreamHack Open December.
