Every CS: GO update becomes a subject of interest not only for regular players, but also for datamayners – those who study the system files of the game in detail in search of hidden information. In the files of the patch released on June 10, elements were found that confirm rumors about the imminent appearance of a new mode in the game. They concern the Mirage and Inferno maps.
In particular, several files with the word «retake» in their names were found. Other maps have used similar elements to reduce their area when playing in Wingman mode. On Mirage and Inferno, these items are disabled by default and cannot be triggered during game events. However, they may become part of the game in the future in the new – Retake mode, which emphasizes post-bombing play. Previously, it was available only on unofficial servers and was used, in particular, to practice players' actions in the second half of the match. The addition of Retake as an official mode will save players from having to find private servers to practice on.
In addition, 1 x 1 play areas have been discovered on Mirage outside of the main map. This could mean that a two-player warm-up area, the likes of which have recently been added to Vertigo and Nuke, will soon be available.
