A recent update to Counter Strike: Global Offensive added a new launch mode to the game. It was previously being tested in beta. The main purpose of the new mode, which is called «Trusted Mode» , is to fight cheaters. When activated, it will block any third-party programs and applications from attempting to interact with the game files. An exception will be made for Authenticode digitally signed drivers. This is something the developers of auxiliary applications for CS: GO have to take care of themselves.
After the end of beta testing this mode was enabled «by default» for all players. If at launch the game detects any files or programs that do not meet the new requirements, the user will see a warning. It will detail which file is causing the problem. For those who encounter performance issues or bugs with the new mode, Valve is keeping the option to run a compatible version of the game. Those who want to continue using third-party software can manually disable Trusted Mode. However, in this case, they will be denied access to secure VAC servers and their Trust Score will decrease.
