ESL honored the memory of a famous German cyber athlete

On June 28, ESL released a video dedicated to the memory of German player Antonio «cyx» Daniloski, who tragically died exactly ten years ago. In addition, the tournament organizer launched a campaign on GoFund.me, calling to raise money to help the player's mother and keep his tombstone in proper condition.

In 2010, Antonio Daniloski was one of the most famous German cybersports players. At the time, he was in his third year with the mousesports team and had contributed significantly to its major wins at the international level, including participation in the IEM II World Championship, IEM III Global Challenge Dubai and IEM IV European Championship. He had planned to play with mousesports at the IEM V Global Challenge, but missed his flight to Shanghai, where the competition was being held, and was involved in a car accident while returning home from the airport.

In a memorable video that includes old mousesports footage, Fatih «gob b» Dayik, one of Antonio's teammates, talks about the impression the player made on other competitors. He had a big impact on the development of the German cybersports scene and his loss was a big blow to the team. Antonio «cyx» Daniloski would have turned thirty years old today.
