Tournament organizer Relog Media has announced that it will hold a large-scale competition called LAN Sweet LAN in early 2022. They are to be held in Belgrade, where the company's headquarters are located. The prize pool will be $250,000. Selection leading to teams qualifying for this final round will be done through monthly tournaments. FunPlus Phoenix, HAVU and mousesports have already secured spots in the Masters stage in the first months of 2021. Nine more teams will be determined before the end of the year, with the final four participants receiving direct invitations. Thus, a tournament grid of sixteen teams will be formed, which will compete for the main prize.
The Relog Media headquarters in Belgrade has already been used by various teams for bootcamps in 2020, when most of the activity was moved online. The tournament is set to become the largest LAN event for Relog ever and will mark a return to the usual competition format, which teams and organizers had to abandon for more than a year due to customary restrictions. Relog originally wanted to call the tournament Home Sweet Home Masters, but then changed the name to LAN Sweet LAN to emphasize the importance placed on the format of the event.
