PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 has started

19 March 2024, 14:35

On March 17, the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 tournament kicked off – the first major in 2024 to be held on Counter-Strike 2. The competition will take almost half a month: the opening matches and the selection stage will last until March 24, and then the best 8 teams out of 24 participating teams will meet in the playoffs, which will end on the 31st. As usual, Valve is working hard to make the tournament interesting for all spectators, so CS2 fans have an opportunity not only to watch the matches, but also to add colorful stickers to their collection.

Copenhagen Majors Stickers

PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 has started

Officially Valve has not yet announced the release of stickers for the Major, but a few days ago datamayners managed to find images of all stickers in the game files after the update, which was released on the night of March 16. In terms of style, they are quite similar to stickers from previous majors, which is not surprising since the rosters of the participating teams overlap in many ways. Among the Copenhagen Major stickers that will be available – are the symbols of all the teams, each of which comes in four versions – paper, gold, glitter-coated and holographic.

Copenhagen Major Favorites

Whether you're going to participate in the Pick’em Challenge or just following the competition, you'll be interested to know which teams are currently considered the tournament favorites. Here are the matches whose matches are likely to attract the most attention of spectators:

Team Spirit. The unexpected rise of the team was due to the talent of Daniel «donk» Kryshkovets, but he is not the only strong player on the team. Dmitry «sh1ro» Sokolov is considered one of the most successful snipers, and the Team Spirit captain has repeatedly shown his ability to organize the game. The main thing is that the team will be able to cope with the psychological pressure that is inevitably associated with performance at a major.

Team Vitality. The French team has been performing unstably lately. Last year they won the final round of the Blast Premier, but then fell at the Katowice tournament. The team still has players who won at BLAST.tv Paris Major, so it is likely that by the tournament in Copenhagen they were able to adjust their game and will still show high results.

FaZe Clan. In Katowice, the team finished in second place, behind only the unrivaled Team Spirit squad. FaZe participants have a high individual level and at the same time are able to work together, so they have every chance to show themselves well.

G2 Esports. NiKo and m0NESY play for this team, whose level is hard to doubt. But you can't say that about the other members of the team. In particular, the G2 captain is often criticized because of his poor performance. How well G2 will be able to prove itself at the majors depends largely on luck.

The first stage of the tournament is coming to an end, but the strongest teams, which will start right from the Elimination Stage on March 21, have yet to enter the game, so the most interesting part of the tournament is just beginning.
