FunSpark and 5EPlay have released the schedule for the FunSpark Ulti 2020 tournament and revealed which teams will participate in the opening matches. Qualifying games will begin on August 8 and will be held separately for North America and Europe. According to their results, there will be one place for North American teams and two for European teams.
The European qualifiers will feature 16 teams, who will first play matches in two double-elimination groups and then determine the leaders in a «best-of-three format». Group stage winners will receive a pass to the main tournament and a chance to win $15,000 in the grand finals, scheduled for Aug. 20.
Eight teams will play in the North American division. The winner, who will be determined by double elimination, will win $7500 and the opportunity to participate in the LAN stage. FunSpark Ulti was originally scheduled to be held in early February, but there is now a high probability that the event will be postponed until next year due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation. The final dates will be announced as soon as it becomes clear when it will be possible to organize the arrival of players from other countries to China.
The tournament will be held in Beijing, Hainan or Chengdu. It will be played by four invited teams, and four selected by qualification. It is already known that FURIA and TYLOO will be among the participants.
