Although some fans of CS:GO are limited to playing on the official servers in, in fact the possibilities of the game are much wider. Its engine opens up a wide variety of modding possibilities, and the community takes advantage of them by creating original maps or game modes. Even if you're bored with standard matches and you've already learned the maps by heart, there's always something to do in CS:GO. Here are some examples of unusual maps that can be downloaded from the Steam Workshop.
Variations of Inferno
Destructible elements are also found on official maps. For example, on Nuke, there are windows near point A that can be knocked out. However, the creators of Destructible Inferno have taken this idea to the next level: most of the objects on the map are destructible. You can collapse the tower with an explosion or destroy objects that the enemy is trying to hide behind. This refreshes the gameplay compared to the standard version of the map, which many people have already learned by heart. Using explosives, players can create new openings, and destructible shelters force players to be constantly on the move.
Another interesting variation of Inferno for those who want to pump up their skills is called Aim Rogue Inferno. Its main feature – procedural generation. Each time you load the map, the arena is formed anew, and the possible versions total thirty million. Because of this, players have to adapt and find the right angles for shooting each time.
Rats Series
Of course, some maps are created not so much to test players' skills as to have fun with friends. Case in point – maps from the Rats series, which were originally invented back in the days of CS 1.6. The environments on these maps consist of ordinary household items multiplied in size, and the players become Lilliputians against their background. In the series there are maps that reproduce different types of rooms.
In a similar style is made and Cyberwar – only here players will have to storm a huge motherboard.
References to other games
.
By the name of Subway Smurfers map you can guess what the player will have to do. And indeed, almost like in the famous runner, he will have to overcome obstacles, moving along the railroad tracks.
If you want to practice jumping, this map is just right. A couple other maps built on unexpected references to other games will be found as well. For example, Fightyard Terraria is reminiscent of the famous sandbox game and is well suited for Deathmatch mode. And The Binding of Isaac: CSGO is a series of rooms in which players will have to face not chthonic monsters, but each other.
