Drops in Counter-Strike 2 are random events that occur after a match and give participating players the chance to receive certain items or contracts. They can vary in value. Today's topic is the most expensive drops in CS2.
What is a drop and what is its purpose in Counter-Strike 2?
Previously, the drop system only allowed players to receive items after each match. Today, you can still receive them, but players choose their reward from the game menu. The system has become easier and simpler. In the past, drops could include graffiti and some in-game commonalities, and getting something truly expensive and noteworthy was almost impossible.
Now, to receive a drop, you need to increase your level weekly. It's important to note: weekly item drops are only available to players with prime accounts. If you don't have prime, then receiving drops is not possible. You can find out about the possibility of receiving drops by hovering over your profile in the game.
After the system's improvement, players can receive different types of items with varying probabilities of dropping. To have this chance, you first need to earn 5000 experience points. Once this level is reached, four slots open up, each containing different drops – a skin, graffiti, or a container with items inside.
Cases remain the most attractive option, of course. You can get both common and rare cases (the latter, of course, also rarely).
Many CS2 players wonder how often expensive drops occur in CS2. There is no reliable statistics on drops: Valve does not disclose this information. Online, you can find tables with percentages of probability, but these are not official data: they are usually provided by "farms" with thousands of gaming accounts. They provide summaries like this:
You can receive only one drop per week.
What kind of drops can occur in CS2?
In the weekly drop, CS2 players can receive various skins – all types of firearms and cold weapons, gloves, agent skins. They differ in rarity, depending on the color:
white – consumer grade;
light blue – industrial grade;
dark blue – military grade;
purple – restricted;
purple-pink – classified;
red – covert.
Each player with the appropriate rating and a prime account can choose from 4 items for a reward. These include a case (one instance, often doesn't drop at all), skins (1 or 2 items), graffiti (1 or 2).
Graffiti is the least valuable items in the shooter. Most often, graffiti drops, the cost of which does not exceed 10 rubles.
Expensive drops in CS2 sometimes occur by getting skins. As for the items that players can receive through drops, there are quite a few. These items come from the following collections:
Inferno 2018. Here are not too expensive skins. Among the most expensive are the P250 Best Wine, MP7 Gradient, and Dual Berettas Turbodiesel.
Nuke 2018. This collection has worthy examples, such as the M4A1-S Control Panel, Glock-18 Nuclear Garden, and Tec-9 Remote Control.
The Bank Collection. This case doesn't have too expensive skins, but here you can find the R8 Revolver Bone Mask, whose souvenir version costs $21,656! Meanwhile, the regular skin costs about $0.43.
The Italy Collection. The most rare and desired item from this collection is the covert quality AWP Pit Viper. Its price is up to $0.65 per unit.
The Lake Collection. This collection includes not too expensive skins, but their souvenir versions, on the other hand, are valued very high. These include the Dual Berettas Cobalt Quartz (from $357 to $1300 for souvenir versions), SG 553 Anodized Navy (from $92 to $433), AWP Pit Viper (from $195 to $3790).
The Safehouse Collection. The skins that are part of this collection are inexpensive in the standard version, but have a high price in the souvenir version. For example, the price of the skin M4A1-S Nitro in the souvenir version ranges from $216 to $27,070, and the Famas Demolition from $79 to $1080.
The Train Collection. Like in previous collections, here are skins that are cheap in normal condition, but have a very high price in the souvenir version. This applies to skins such as the M4A4 Urban DDPAT (from $4 to $108), Tec-9 Red Quartz (from $5 to $65).
The Dust 2 Collection. Here are many weapon skins whose value in the souvenir version is quite high. These include the R8 Revolver Amber Fade (from $39 to $108), AK-47 Safari Mesh (from $6 to $216).
Of course, you won't just receive some iconic and expensive skins, but the chance to get an item in new condition can bring a decent sum to the player.
Cases that can be received as a drop
Every week players can get cases from the active pool, as well as rare containers. The drop of cases is a real chance to get really cool items in the game.
Players receive cases randomly selected from the active drop pool set by the shooter developer Valve. The active pool changes every few months.
The active pool of case drops includes:
Revolution Case. An interesting container that includes, in addition to military and restricted quality items, skins of covert and classified quality. The most expensive and valuable examples are the M4A4 Temuka, AK-47 Headshot, AWP Duality. As rare items, this case contains gloves.
"Recoil" Case. This collection contains 17 weapon skins and a set of gloves from the "Broken Fang" series as rare items. Of particular note are skins such as the AWP Chromatic Aberration (covert quality), USP-S Information Flow (covert), Sawed-Off Close Quarters (classified).
Dreams & Nightmares. This is a relatively new case released in 2022. Out of the 17 items in the collection, 7 of them are of military quality. More interest is in the restricted quality items (G3SG1 Dream Meadow, XM1014 Zombie Strike) and classified quality items (Famas Rapid Eye Movement, Dual Berettas Imagination). The covert quality skins also cannot be ignored (in particular, the AK-47 Night Wish). Knives are included as rare items.
Snakebite Case. This collection contains such interesting weapon skins as the USP-S Traitor, M4A4 In Living Color, AK-47 Slate. As rare items, this case contains gloves (24 possible items).
In addition to the active pool, there are also rare cases. The chance to get them is just as rare. Among the pool of rare drops are such collections:
CS20 Case. As rare items, here are knives (13 possible variants). Among the weapon skins are the UMP-45 Plasticity, P90 Nostalgia, Five-SeveN Buddy. This weapon case was created to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Counter-Strike.
Prisma 2. This collection was released in 2020. Like most other cases, it includes 17 weapon skins, including the AWP Capillary, MAG-7 Justice, AK-47 Phantom Disruptor. Knives are included as rare items.
Operation Vanguard. This collection includes 14 weapon skins released as part of the Vanguard operation. These include skins such as the UMP-45 Delusion, M4A1-S Basilisk. Knives are also included as rare items.
Spectrum 2. The case contains such weapon skins as the Tec-9 Cracked Opal, G3SG1 The Executioner, MAC-10 Oceanic. Various knives (Huntsman, Butterfly, Shadow Daggers, Bowie) are included as rare items.
Other rare cases that may drop include Chroma 3, Operation Breakout, Hydra, and others.
What are the most expensive CS2 drops you can get in the game?
The most expensive case that can drop weekly for a player is the Weapon Case, valued at $92. All other collections and skins are cheaper.
Note: through the drop, you can only get skins that are part of the map collections. This means that skins from case collections can be obtained by opening the case with a purchased key.
Drops in CS2 are a way to acquire interesting items for your collection. The system is now improved, and the ability to get drops depends on the player's rating.
