Late last week, Polish cybersports organization Illuminar announced that it is disbanding its current roster and will be looking for a new strategy to compete in CS: GO. This comes just three months after it signed Dominik «GruBy» Swiderski and several other players.
Friederik «Veggie» Kozel, head of the cybersports department at Illuminar, mentioned that the main reason for this decision – «was the desire to change the strategy and direction of the team», adding that the players' contracts were terminated by mutual agreement of the parties. He has no doubt that each of them can find a place for themselves on other professional teams. Veggie emphasized that the CS: GO division is not closing, and plans for a new roster will be presented in the near future.
The current Illuminar roster was recruited in February, but the players have not been able to achieve significant success. They dropped out of the top 100 of the world rankings in mid-April. Thus, the players who were part of the Illuminar roster are now free agents. Only coach Jedrzej «Bogdan» Rokita, who will take part in the formation of the new squad, plans to continue cooperation with the cyber sports organization.
