The Russian Outsiders joined the ranks of teams that have secured a spot in the Legends stage at the majors. On Nov. 2, it defeated fnatic on two maps, achieving a win-loss ratio of 3 – 1. Outsiders started their journey at the Challengers stage with a loss to MOUZ, but then went on to win against IHC, Vitality and finally fnatic.
Despite the fact that the first map of the match, Overpass, was chosen by fnatic, the Russian team had the upper hand. She won six rounds in a row, thanks in large part to the clear actions of Evgeny «FL1T» Lebedev and Jame «Jame» Ali, who managed to kill opposing players a total of 16 times. In the sixth round, play was briefly suspended due to three fnatic players having computer problems. After they were resolved, the sixth round was replayed and it was ultimately left to the Outsiders. Soon the Russian advantage became even more overwhelming, and the map ended with a score of 16 – 1.
Taking Mirage was not so easy: despite the Russian team gaining a slight advantage, fnatic managed to match the score time and time again, and the match ended with the lowest score (16 – 14).
Fnatic still has one more chance to qualify for the Legends stage: on Thursday they will play against 9z. Now both teams have a win-loss ratio of 2 – 2, which means that the winner of this match will be able to continue the fight for the main prize, while the loser will leave the competition. Other teams that have already guaranteed themselves spots in the next stage of the tournament include – Bad News Eagles, MOUZ, FURIA and BIG.
