BIG and Copenhagen Flames were the last two teams to receive an invitation to the 2022 Pinnacle Cup Championship. The event will take place June 8-11 in Sweden, with a prize pool of $250,000. Both teams have been confirmed for the Pinnacle Cup Championship just before their first matches at PGL Major Antwerp, where they start from the Legends stage.
The highest ranked teams in the Pinncale Cup will be Heroic (5th place in the world rankings) and Astralis (9th place), who will be facing each other for the first time. Copenhagen Flames will thus become the third Danish team at the championship. As a result
Other invited participants include – American Evil Geniuses, Brazil's MIBR and Imperial, and fnatic, for which players from various European countries now play. Unlike Astralis and MIBR, Evil Geniuses failed to qualify for the majors, losing to 9z. As a result, the Pinnacle Cup Championship will be the only major event for the American squad to compete at in the coming months.
The event will take place in Lund at the «Sparbanken Skane Arena», a 3,000-seat stadium. This is the first time ever that the Pinnacle Cup Championship has been held offline
