The first teams to secure a spot in the majors have been determined. In the North American RMR tournament, Liquid and Evil Geniuses were the first competitors to achieve the required result, beating 9z and Complexity respectively. Thus, they scored three wins each, becoming the leaders of the stage, which is played under the Swiss system. On Sunday, Liquid and Evil Geniuses will play a match that will determine which of them will start at the Challengers stage and which will go directly to Legends.
Meanwhile, Ninjas in Pyjamas and FaZe are the leaders in Group A of the European Qualifiers with three consecutive wins. The third team from Europe, which has already guaranteed itself a place at the tournament in Rio, was Natus Vincere – the only one who managed to achieve three victories in Group B. In its last match on October 6, it defeated Outsiders on two maps (Mirage and Inferno), gaining a significant advantage by the end of the match. Especially impressive was s1mple, whose rating in this match amounted to 1.61.
By the end of the week, the rest of the qualifiers should be completed, which means that in the coming days we will know which other teams will be able to qualify for the majors.
