There's a new twist in the story of the Finnish cyber athlete who sued Valve over an unfair ban. Some time ago, professional player Elias «Jamppi» Olkkonen sued Valve Corporation, expecting to recover compensation for lost profits. Recall that he got in trouble because of a VAC ban he received while still a minor due to an unfortunate coincidence. Olkkonen believes that because of this, he was unable to accept the professional team's offer and suffered a loss of 250,000 euros.
The case has been dragging on for a long time, but has not yet been finalized: it suddenly turned out that Jamppi had filed a lawsuit against the wrong company. He addressed his claims to Valve Gmbh, a small subsidiary of Valve, which has nothing to do with CS: GO or the banning of players.
The situation with Jamppi has also attracted attention because of his age: the talented player recently turned 18, while the banning story began when he was only 14. Many representatives of the professional scene are on the side of the Finnish cyber athlete, but it is still unclear how the situation will unfold further. One can only hope that in the end what is happening will not be a significant obstacle to the further development of his career.
