At the end of 2020, American cybersports organization Gen.G decided to review its CS: GO roster and gave players and coaches currently on its roster the opportunity to consider various transfer options. One of the team's members, Hansel «BnTeT» Ferdinand, was recently interviewed by HLTV, talking about the challenges the team has faced during the 2020 season. This year was the first year spent in North America for the Indonesian player and allowed him to greatly enrich his experience, even though the cancelation of most LAN events was a bit of a disappointment.
The start of the year was quite a good one for the team. In particular, she was able to pick up a victory at DreamHack Open Anaheim – the first major LAN match for this lineup. But to maintain this level thereafter Gen.G failed to do so. BnTeT believes this has several reasons – including the fact that players have not been able to fully adapt to online matches. Two members decided to leave the team and move to Valorant.
Now, having been given the opportunity to move to another team, Hansel plans to play in Europe, as the top cyber athletes are currently playing there. He mentioned that he has already received several interesting offers from European teams. Perhaps BnTeT would have considered staying in Gen.G if the team had been able to find the missing players, but by the end of 2020, attempts to assemble a full roster were still unsuccessful.
