Tournament organizer Funspark has revealed the conditions of the new pre-season competition, which will take place in the second half of December – early January. There will be eighteen Asian teams competing for a prize pool of $30500. Among the teams invited to the tournament are – TYLOO, TIGER and Invictus. In addition, the organizers mention that separate competitions will be held for teams from the European region, but the details have not yet been disclosed.
At the first stage, sixteen teams will be divided into four groups, in which matches consisting of three maps will be held. The leaders of each group will go straight through to the playoffs, while the second place teams will play additional deciding matches between them. The second phase of the tournament will also be played in a group format. This time the draw will be held in double-elimination format, in two groups of four teams each. Thus, two teams from each group will qualify for the final stage. The playoffs will be conducted in the typical fashion of such tournaments – single-elimination with three cards drawn per match.
Tournament organizer Firespark also reports that its biggest event, Funspark ULTI Lan, which was postponed in October, remains without a fixed date until the epidemic situation improves.
