The organizers of the Fragadelphia tournament series have announced the dates and conditions for the new competition series. The series of ten events will kick off in the U.S. in early April. Eight tournaments will be held over the spring and summer where teams can earn ranking points. This will determine the participants in the final round of Fragadelphia 17, which will be held in September in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the final stage, a prize pool of $100,000 will be drawn.
The previous cycle of Fragadelphia 16 was held according to a similar scheme: the events within its framework were held in different American cities, and according to their results the teams received rating points. The top eight in the rankings received spots in the final stage. In addition, for the top 4 teams, the organizers paid all expenses related to travel to the tournament. Eight other teams received direct invitations.
The first event of the cycle starts on April 30 in Georgetown, Texas. Other cities that will host Fragadelphia – events include Denver, Chicago, Philadelphia, Fallerton, Denver and North Brunswick. The last of these will conclude on August 14. A last chance tournament will be held in September for teams that were unable to qualify «».
