The organizers of the IEM Cologne tournament have published a list of the best players. In addition to s1mple, who earned his twenty-first career MVP title, nine other cyber athletes were named to receive the EVP – Exceptionally Valuable Player award.
The list was topped by Russell «Twistzz» van Dulken of FaZe. It was largely due to his individual efforts and interactions with other players that FaZe won the tournament. His rating was negative on the first two maps of the grand finals, but on the remaining three it was 1.32, 1.42 and 1.40 respectively. As a result, the team managed to create a small haul and still surpass NAVI.
Second on the EVP list was another FaZe player – Havard «rain» Nyagaard. Like his aforementioned teammate, he achieved the highest scores on the last maps of the tournament, just when it mattered most.
Finally, third was Benjamin «balmeF» Bremer from Astralis. He has performed well on both defense and offense, being successful in a variety of roles. In terms of the number of rounds in which he managed to hit his opponent (54.2% of all rounds), he is second only to s1mple.
Among other players honored with the EVP title – representatives of Liquid, Movistar Riders and Vitalirty, as well as another NAVI player, Denis «electronic» Sharipov.
