Red Bull has announced the return of the Red Bull Flick tournament after the success it had last year. In 2021, the competition will be held in November in Helsinki, with a prize fund of 50,000 euros. SteelSeries and AOC will be partners of the event, and Nikola «Niko» Kovacs from Team G2 will be its official ambassador, as well as commentating on the best matches.
The RedBull Flick competition follows an unusual format, with teams of just two players each competing on five original futuristic-style maps, such as Digital Archives or Control Room. Both professionals and amateurs will be able to participate in the competition.
Those wishing to participate can register for national and international qualifying matches, which will take place from April to October. The winners of the open qualification will advance to the Helsinki Invitational, which will determine the final list of teams that will advance to the main stage. In addition, ENCE, Cloud9 and several other teams have already received invitations to the Helsinki Invitational. Each will select two players to put into the competition.
