Team META and betFIRST have teamed up to organize a new tournament called CS:GO Elite. The competition, which will involve just six teams, is due to take place in February 2021, with a prize fund of €15,000. The tournament will feature top teams from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The organizers expect to hold three events during the year, the results of which will determine the best team in the region.
Most of the prize fund will be played at the final stage of the tournament at the end of the year, while the spring and summer games will serve as qualifying games: the teams will be able to earn points, which will be taken into account in the distribution of participants in the final stage: the three teams with the highest rating will get to the final stage.
«By creating this CS:GO league, betFIRST aims to pioneer the development of cybersports in Belgium," says Paul Seghers, a representative of one of the tournament organizers. – We believe in the power of cybersport and together with META we hope to give local talented players more opportunities to prove themselves».
Until December 6, the organizers will accept applications from teams that want to participate. Six teams will be selected from them and the first matches will be played on February 11, 2021.
