On August 2, another CS:GO update was released, the most notable feature of which was a change in the calculation of ranks. As a result, the rank affiliation of many players may change. The developers attribute this to a new algorithm. After downloading the update, the rank will not be displayed until the player has played at least one match in the corresponding game mode. The rank will then be recalibrated and appear in the profile. The developers also noted that this is not the first change to the ranking system, just usually the adjustments are small and therefore do not deserve a separate mention in the patch descriptions.
In addition, some bugs in the game instructor functions were fixed, and a number of changes were added to the Ember map. They mainly concern the cannon layout and their use: they now have three firing speeds, they can now be aimed upwards, and their inaccuracy rate has been reduced. A separate icon has been added to the killfeed to display information about enemies killed by the cannon. In addition, the developers fixed bugs related to the use of cannons and improved the graphical effects of firing them.
The localization files for different languages have also been updated in accordance with the changes: new files related to the display of information about the recalibration of ranks have been added.
