On July 28, Valve released another update for CS:GO, which brings several significant changes to the game. A few days after the release of Swamp and Mutiny – , the developers added a small patch fixing bugs and improving the balance on these maps.
In addition to fixes for the new maps, the update solved another issue: an exploit that allowed players to make smoke invisible to themselves, although it still obscured the view of other participants, was fixed. Richard Lewis, who discovered the bug, did not describe getting it in detail to prevent it from being used in public matches. However, he noted that the sequence of actions was very simple and did not trigger a VAC.
Apparently, Valve took notice of the situation and released an update within a day after Lewis posted a video demonstrating the bug. It will now be impossible to use this exploit.
In addition, the update includes several fixes for Mutiny and Swamp maps. They are designed to improve visibility, optimize performance, and generally make gameplay on them more balanced. Shaders and sound files were also affected by the optimization.
