The Swedish team Ninjas in Pyjamas has announced that they are creating a youth roster to be called Young Ninjas. The first member of the new roster will be seventeen-year-old Eric «ztr» Gustafson. The team will be led by Frederick «JAEGARN» Anderson, who once played Counter Strike 1.6 professionally. The main goal of the project – is to support young cyber athletes and give them the opportunity to develop by participating in local competitions.
Eric Gustafson has already made a name for himself in the cyber sports scene. He has played for Spanish team KPI and for Swedish team Prima. As part of the latter, he was the highest scoring roster member at the Svenska Elitserien Fall 2020 Championship.
The creation of the Young Ninjas team is a further development of the talent support project Path of a Ninja, which was launched in early December. Initially, team management planned for the program to select one or two players per season to become additional members of the main roster. However, NiP later decided to form a full youth team to create a fruitful environment for player development.
