German cybersport organization PENTA returns to CS GO

A German eSports organization called PENTA, which stopped competing in Counter Strike: Global Offensive in 2017 after disbanding its international roster, has decided to resume participation in matches, this time assembling a roster of local players. Prior to 2017, PENTA managed to compete in three majors and made the playoffs twice. At various times, it has featured Mikka «suNny» Kemppi, Kevin «HS» Tarn, Johannes «tabseN» Wodarz and other successful cyber athletes.

PENTA has been away from CS: GO matches for the past three years, but has now decided to return by acquiring a roster of players who previously formed the core of the EURONICS team. Most of them have played mostly in local matches and have little international experience. PENTA chief Andreas Schetzke emphasized that it was once the first German team to finish in the top-8 at a major. He expects the new roaster will allow PENTA «to return to its roots». Team leader Christoph «red» Hinrichs said that in the near future they plan to concentrate on preparation for the upcoming German tournaments, as well as participation in ESEA Main.
