After winning at IEM Cologne, the Natus Vincere team is back at the top of the world rankings, displacing Gambit from this position. The latter stayed on top for fourteen weeks, but in Cologne it only took 5 – 6th place, and that was not enough to keep the lead.
Natus Vincere climbs to the top of the rankings for the fourth time in its history – previously the team managed to achieve this result in 2016, 2020 and early 2021. However, it usually didn't manage to stay on top for long – in total NAVI was considered the best CS GO team for nineteen weeks. Soon after the summer break «born to win» will have a chance to confirm their status in the ESL Pro League Season 14 tournament to be held in August-September.
In addition, the team has a chance to become the third team in history to win the Intel Grand Slam title. It was previously achieved by Astralis (in 2018) and Liquid (in 2019). So far, Natus Vincere has three wins at major tournaments in the IEM and DreamHack series, so it is one more tournament win away from the $1,000,000 prize. Gambit, who can also qualify for the Intel Grand Slam, will need two big wins to do so.
