Enkhmanlai «world» Batbayar – owner, coach, manager and investor of Mongolian D13 announced that his team will move to Turkey for at least a year to get a chance to play in European championships. He explains that he made this decision quite spontaneously, realizing that the quality of the Internet connection in Turkey would give players the opportunity to participate in major cybersports events without any problems.
Previously, D3 had tried several times to enter the European cybersports scene, but it was difficult to do so largely due to the high ping. Nevertheless, in early 2021, the team managed to perform well in the ESEA Open, but could not rise above the qualifying tournaments. The players hope that now they will be able to prove themselves much better.
The world is currently paying most of the costs associated with moving and training the team from the income it earns from its business back home. Now for some time he will have to manage things remotely. However, he doesn't seem to be deterred by having to constantly switch between multiple roles: «We love this game. Both myself and my team love this game. I realize my organization is small, but my players have good potential and great talent. I want us to learn from European teams. We are still nobodies, but we will work hard. And then nothing is impossible».
Batbayar plans for the team to stay in Europe for at least a year, regardless of how it performs. If he manages to find additional funding and resolve visa issues, the team will move to Latvia by the end of 2021.
