Late last week, it was announced that Torbjörn «mithR» Nyborg would become the new coach of mousesports – the spot was left vacant after the team's previous coach, Allan «Rejin» Petersen, was banned for more than 19 months for using «a coaching bug» during official matches. Previously, mirthR has coached teams such as Tricked and ALTERNATE aTTaX, and his collaboration with Notrh has begun in 2019. However, the Danish team was underperforming and had a major roster change in early 2020, with mirthR moving to the Renegades in April. They managed to perform well, but shortly after the pandemic began, the Renegades were forced to limit their performances to their home region. Therefore, Torbjörn, eager to continue his coaching career at the international level, accepted the offer of mousesports.
The coach believes that his main task – is to create an environment for the players that will stimulate their development. His priority is not to teach players any specific techniques, but to create a structure where everyone is expected to perform at their best and work hard. For this purpose, the coach must set specific goals that will motivate the players, make sure that they do not lose interest and strive to develop.
Under the guidance of the new coach, mousesports will have to perform in the near future – at BLAST Showdown and DreamHack Masters Winter.
