American cybersports organization Evil Geniuses has announced that Tarik «tarik» Celik will be leaving the active roster. The player plans to retire from major competitions for a while and focus on streaming and content creation to start the next phase in his career. His place in Evil Geniuses will be taken by Polish cyber athlete Michal «MICHU» Mueller.
He will make his Evil Geniuses debut at the FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Finals starting April 10. Evil Geniuses co-CEO Greg Kim notes that he is excited to have a new player in the lineup who is excited about the opportunity to go up against the best teams in the world: «We look forward to seeing how he becomes a part of Evil Geniuses and how its team will continue to grow and succeed».
MICHU has spent most of his career on the local eSports scene, representing teams such as ESC, G2 and Kinguin between 2014 and 2018, and was considered one of Poland's most promising players. In 2020, Michal moved to Envy and played more than seventy matches for this North American team with an average rating of 1.09.
Tarik's departure from Evil Geniuses was the result of disagreements he had with the team's management in recent times. Now the remaining members and coach are hoping that the Polish player's appearance in the lineup will energize a team that has won just two of its last seven matches and is now 15th in the world rankings.
