A collector bought a CS GO skin for a record price

The economy that has developed in Counter Strike: Global Offensive around the sale of skins is considerable. Every day in the game there are transactions totaling millions of dollars, and the cost of individual rare skins reaches tens of thousands. Until recently, the record expensive skin was Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore, which sold for $61,000 in January 2018 after the Boston Major championship. Its unique feature was a Skadoodle – sticker of a player on the Cloud9 team that won the major that year.

Two years later, that record was finally broken. The most expensive was a skin rarer than Dragon Lore and complete with stickers that can no longer be purchased in-game. A Chinese collector purchased a Stattrak M4A4 Howl with four IBuyPower Katowice 2014 stickers for about $100,000. Such a price was possible because of the combination of several features, each of which in itself makes the skin quite rare – the probability of Howl falling out is 0.003. It is reported that the collector plans to resell his acquisition even more expensive – so there is a chance that the new record will not last too long. To potential buyers, the current owner of the skin is offering to pay $130,000 for it.
