Kareem «Krimbo» Moussa, who plays for BIG, will miss the final matches of the 2022 Pinnacle Cup Championship after testing positive for coronavirus. The team announced the announcement on June 10. The nineteen-year-old's place will be temporarily taken by Nils «k1to» Grun, who used to play for BIG and is now registered at BIG Academy.
This will be k1to's first match for BIG after replacing Joseph «faven» Baumann at the closed qualification for IEM Dallas. Earlier this year, Krimbo took just the k1to position on the main roster. The first match for Krimbo at this championship will be against Astralis, after which they will face either the grand final or the third place match against Heroic on Saturday.
The team will also have to travel to Lund after the Pinnacle Cup to play in the BLAST Premier Spring Final tournament, which starts on Wednesday, July 15. Thus, Krimbo has little time to recover and it remains unclear whether he will be able to play at this event.
In the group part of the tournament, BIG performed very well, topping their group after beating MIBR and fnatic. The winner of the Pinnacle Cup will receive a grand prize of $150,000, while the second and third place teams will receive $50,000 and $35,000 respectively.
