How to make a left hand in KS2

Yes, in this shooter you can change the main hand with the weapon. This feature was returned to Counter-Strike 2 at the end of April 2024. The ability to turn the gun on with the left hand was very convenient for left-handed shooters, as well as for those who like a non-standard pistol or shotgun layout. Of course, this function cannot compare in popularity with the sight setting, but it was useful in situations when there was a need to control the territory on the right.

After CS:GO transformed into Counter-Strike 2, this function was removed. Fortunately, as we wrote above, it did return.

In an early version of the game left hand in KS2 was switched using the console command cl_righthand, which is responsible for the active hand. Now, in order to change it, you need to go into the game settings and make certain changes.

Instructions for selecting the hand sideIn

order to select the right hand in KS2, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the settings. Select the option «Prevailing Hand in First-Person View», click «Show in Settings».

  2. Select the hand you are interested in.

  3. To bind a hand change, select the option «Bind key for hand change». By default it is set to the H key, you can choose any other key for this.

Let's take a closer look at how the bind works. To change the default key, you need to:

  • go to the game settings (they are located in the upper left corner and labeled with the image of a gear);

  • go to «Keyboard and Mouse»;

  • select «Weapons»;

  • go to «Change Hand in first-person view» and change the H key to a different one that suits you.

If you are using left hand in KS2, remember that each switch results in the original position. Also note: even if you set the left hand, the shadow of the weapon will still always be on the right.

Viewmodel settings are responsible for the position of the character's hands on the screen. You can use them to move your hands to the edge of the screen or, on the contrary, to move them forward as close to the center part as possible.

If you prefer to use the left hand in KS2, you can also adjust its position and viewing angle. To do this, use the special command viewmodel_fov «x». Instead of «x» , enter any number between 54 and 68 here.

You can also change the length of your arms to make them look longer on the screen. To do this, use the console command viewmodel_offset_y 2.0.

To move the arms to the right or left side, use the command viewmodel_offset_x 2.5. A value of -2.0 shifts the hand position to the left, a value of 2.5 – to the right.
