After the developers announced the release of the second Counter Strike on March 22, 2023 and immediately after that opened beta testing of the game, the community of caesers instantly swarmed and became actively interested in how to get beta CS:GO 2.
Criteria for access gamers
This question is actually unreasonable, because Valve has established the most opaque criteria by which it selects gamers on closed test servers. Yes, that's the case: not everyone will be able to play the new Counter Strike before its release in the summer of 2023, and that's a fact that part of the community will have to come to terms with. Currently, 3 such selection criteria are known:
Time spent by the kaeser in the first part of Counter Strike. And only the time played on official servers counts.
Trust. In this case, Valve is referring to whether the account holder has ever been caught using cheats, using cheat programs, other unfair ways of playing. So if you're doing well here, you have an increased chance of getting the CS:GO 2 beta.
Stim account status. It's simple: the developers look at whether there are bans on the account and make a decision based on that.
How to check if you have access
If you are lucky enough to be one of the lucky ones, then logging into Steam and launching Counter Strike, you will find an invitation. It will look like a notification with a button "ENROLL" (Join).
By clicking on it, you will start the process of downloading the files of the second part of CS:GO. Next, you need to close Steam and reopen it. After that, you will be able to choose between the first version of Counter Strike and the beta of the second part. Click on "Limited Test" (Limited Test) and enjoy.
If there is no notification and you can't get the CS:GO 2 beta, there is a second way, which was suggested by Captain Feiz Clan karrigan. He discovered the following flyhack: check the cache of Counter Strike and after that get an invite. So, what you need to do:
In Stim, on its main page, where the list of all games is displayed, you should find CS:GO, and then right-click on it.
You will see a menu where you need to find «Properties». Click on them with the left button.
In the next step, go to the tab labeled «Local Files».
Look for the button «Check cache integrity» and of course click on it.
Restart the game and check the invite.
What to do if the invitation is still not
So, you have done everything that was written above, but to get the beta CS:GO 2 still could not. In that case, you just have to wait for the invitation and check your account periodically. The developers, of course, promised to relax the access conditions and let more gamers into the beta, but their promises have remained promises so far.
You can try to improve your chances of getting into the beta of the new Counter Strike. If you remember, Valve said that they select kaesers by the amount of time spent on official servers, account status and trust.
So, to get the CS:GO 2 beta, you should play more of the first part of CS:GO on official servers from Valve, do not use cheats at all and do not commit any actions that could undermine your credibility. We think it is clear to you that if you have a fresh, recently registered account or you have been banned, Valve will not let you into the beta.
It is very easy to check if you have been banned by VAC for cheating. Go to the Stim settings (specifically Stim settings, not CS:GO settings), click on the tab called «Account», and then click on «VAC Status». If everything is fine there and you have an old account, you may be given access soon.
A little about the reaction of the community and
precautionsCaeser
community
made very serious claims to the developers of Counter Strike after the launch of beta testing, that, say, get beta CS:GO 2 almost impossible, Valve divides gamers into a select few and everyone else, Valve splits the community and pits Kaesers against each other, that they should have acted fairly, like Capcom, which did a fair and sent out codes for access to Street Fighter 6 to all comers.
Frankly speaking, we consider the dissatisfaction of Kaesers justified, especially against the background of rumors that pro-players already played the second Counter Strike before the beta testing started.
What can be said here? On the one hand, the developers are acting unethically and actually disregarding the interests of a part of the community. On the other hand, perhaps Valve simply does not have the technical ability to let everyone into the beta.
We admit that you are pissed off by this state of affairs, but it is simply impossible to get the CS:GO 2 beta without an invite. You can't buy either, and anyone offering you access keys or some sort of program that hacks your way into the beta test are just plain scammers. Be careful!
What awaits the player who has entered the beta
It is absolutely necessary not to expect full functionality, as in the release version. So, at the moment in the beta of the second Counter Strike are available:
Only 2 game modes: DeathMatch (Death Match) and competitive mode on the map Dust2 without rating.
The opportunity for map designers to try out the graphical engine Sors 2. Valve is giving them access to the item workshop for this purpose.
An opportunity to gain experience points that won't burn off after release. By doing so, Valve is initially privileging the gamers that the company launched in the test version. By the way, this is another claim of the community to the developers: to get the beta of CS:GO 2 - it is like starting in a race with a handicap of a few seconds.
It is forbidden to modify items from the first part of CS:GO, while using these items is allowed.
Additional facts about beta testingIn
addition to the above written before starting in the beta of the new Counter Strike you should know about the following features.
First, the beta version works only on Windows operating system to the dismay of owners of Linux and Macs.
Secondly, if you do not have a Stim account, you have the same problems as the owners of Linux and Macs.
Thirdly, Valve plans to diversify the beta with new modifications for «guns» and new maps. Another incentive to get the beta of CS:GO 2 for those who don't have an invite yet.
Fourth, you can't make your own servers for CS:GO 2 right now, only Valve servers are available.
Fifth, if you want to change the appearance of your items, there is no such option in the second part of CS:GO yet
.
Make any necessary changes in the first part.Sixth, if you have any limitations in competitive matchmaking, they carry over to the beta version of the second CS:GO as well.
Seventh, Valve in its usual style does not say until what date testing in beta mode will last
.
Most likely before the official release. So, if you're lucky, you'll still have time to get the CS:GO 2 beta and play it.Important CS:GO 2 Updates (beginning)
In the first part of CS:GO, one of the key problems was tikreit, which was much talked about in the gaming community. In short, a tickrate is a small time period while the server processes all the actions that occurred in the game before the tickrate occurred. But, since the rink goes without interruption, there are such unpleasant situations when a gamer, for example, shoots exactly at the head of an opponent during a tikreit, but does not kill him or even wound him. It's because the server is busy processing previous actions and can't capture what happens during the tickrate.
This phenomenon is called «gameplay unsynchronization». As Valve states, the new CS GO 2 will implement an antidote to tikreit, namely the sub-tikreit system or, in other words, zero tikreit. If you have already received the beta of CS:GO 2, then you have a unique opportunity to test this system on your own experience.
Important updates CS:GO 2 (end)
In principle, the introduction of zero tikreit does not fundamentally change the existing system of server processing of game events, but only corrects it, eliminates the existing disadvantage.
The essence is that during the tikreit, while the server is busy processing past events, the subtic system is turned on. Her job is to continue to capture the activities that occur during the rink and respond to them in a timely manner. Once the tickrate is over, control is taken over by the server again, and so it continues until a new tickrate and a new activation of the sub tickrate system.
According to Valve, this method can be used to achieve a solution to the problem «of unsynchronized gameplay» and, consequently, eliminate failures in the processing of in-game actions, resulting in a more enjoyable and fair game
