Every skin in Counter-Strike 2 has a certain amount of wear and tear that determines its appearance. Notions of rarity and quality of skins

All skins in CS2 are differentiated according to the level of rarity and wear. These parameters determine the value of the item on the trading floors. The rarer an item is, the more expensive it is, and the less chance you have of getting it by simply opening a container in the game.

So, we suggest starting with the rarity levels of items. There are a total of 7 levels, each with a different color.

  1. Consumer – white.

Float (float, or degree of wear) – parameter that determines to what extent the skin is damaged (presence of various damages). The item's wear and tear is in the range of 0 to 1. The higher the degree of damage, the more unsightly, dull and worn out a weapon, knife or pair of gloves looks.

The peculiarities of wear manifestation are related to some conditions.

There are 5 variants of skin quality in KS2

In Russian they sound like this:

  • straight from the factory – degree of wear from 0.00 to 0.07;

  • slightly worn – 0,07-0,15;

  • after field tests – 0,15-0,37;

  • worn – 0.37-0.45;

  • battle-hardened – 0.45 or more.

You can find out the degree of wear of the skin you are interested in when buying the item on the trading platform. Such information is specified in the product card. In addition, the degree of wear and tear can also be seen on the in-game skin inspection screen.

Quality of skins in KS2 in English:

  1. Factory New (FN);

  2. Minimal Wear (MW);

  3. Field-Tested (FT);

  4. Well-Worn (WW);

  5. Battle-Scarred (BS).

Many players are interested in whether the wear rate of a game item changes over time. The value «float» is determined when the skin is created or dropped. Thus, regardless of the circumstances, the degree of wear and tear of a particular in-game item does not change over time.

Straight from the factory

New skins –

the

best items that are

of

the highest quality, as well as external aesthetics. As the name implies, they look like they just arrived from the factory. They have the least wear (between 0.00 and 0.07). Thanks to these properties, skins in factory condition are more expensive than all other items.

A little worn

Skins with minimal wear and

tear

– are the best balance between cost and appearance. Slightly worn items have a float value between 0.07-0.15. They are not too different in appearance from the skins in condition straight from the factory. They have minor scuffs, but this is not critical and practically does not affect the overall appearance of the items.

After field tests

In this group quality of skins in KS2 you will find in-game items that show signs of wear. These include scratches, areas of discoloration, and other damage. The flout value for such skins is 0.15-0.37.

Skins after field trials are suitable for players who have a limited budget, but want to buy a relatively good item.

Worn

In-game items of this type have a pronounced wear and tear, while they still retain a pretty good appearance. Flout value – from 0.37 to 0.44.

Battle-hardened

Such skins are the cheapest on the market, and also the least attractive appearance. The flout value – ranges from 0.44 to 1.0. The hull has the most pronounced damage that is visible to the naked eye.
