American cyber athlete Ricky «floppy» Kemery has announced his retirement from Counter Strike. He will continue his career as a member of Cloud 9 by Valorant. The player started competing in CS: GO in 2014. He was a regular in the ESEA MDL, and in 2019 his team finally made it to the ESL Pro League. The highlight of his career was playing for the American cybersports organization ATK.
This squad was successful in the final of the 10th season of ESL Pro League, and Cloud 9 decided to sign these players next year. However, the coronavirus pandemic disrupted the original plans and the team had to limit themselves to competing locally for a while. As a result, the results dropped, and Cloud 9 decided to disband the roster, with key players now playing for Extra Salt.
Floppy remained in Cloud 9 for some time, but at the end of March, the cybersports organization decided to completely abandon the CS: GO division for some time. An additional factor for floppy's move to another discipline was the inability to find interesting offers from other North American teams. Eric «Xeppaa» Bach, formerly of Cloud 9, is in the same position: he also formally remains in its ranks, as he has not found a cybersports organization to join.
