FaZe returned to the top of the world ranking after winning ESL Pro League Season 15

Europe's FaZe, coming off a victory in the ESL Pro League Season 15 Grand Finals late last week, returned to the top spot in the world rankings, displacing NAVI from it. The CIS team remained at the top of the HLTV ranking for almost nine months.

For the current FaZe roster, this achievement marks an important milestone: after a full 2021 challenge, it was able to form a roster capable of scoring major victories. Thus, the team becomes the leader of the ranking for the first time in four years – in April 2018 it was displaced from this position by Astralis, which then dominated for a long time.

The success achieved in the ESL Pro League was followed by FaZe's brilliant performance at IEM Katowice. At the same time, the team had to play several matches with Justin «jks» Savage as a substitute player because first ropz and then Howard «rain» Nygaard tested positive for coronavirus.

Thus, having played three major tournaments with ropz, FaZe scored 869 points, 100 more than Natus Vincere. The latter is still the leader in the achievements subcategory, but concedes the lead in the main ranking, as well as in the categories «Form» and «Recent Events». In total, Natus Vincere stayed on top for 37 weeks.
