On Sunday, FaZe defeated Natus Vincere in the PGL Major Antwerp Grand Final, thus becoming the first team with an international roster to take the top spot at the major.
Two cards were enough for FaZe to win. On Inferno, she gained a significant advantage from the start, so that at one point the score was 8 – 1 in her favor. Then NAVI managed to reduce the gap, and after the change of sides – to equalize the score. In overtime FaZe still had the advantage, and the map remained for it with the score 19 – 16. The second map was Nuke, chosen by Natus Vincere, and on it FaZe also took the lead quite quickly with a difference of 10 – 5. After changing sides, the CIS team failed to change the balance of power, and FaZe won this map with the score 16 – 10.
Thus, FaZe took the first place and $500,000 in prize money, and Natus Vincere – the second place and $150,000. Third through fourth places were shared by ENCE and Spirit with $70,000 in prize money. The tournament MVP title went to Havard «rain» Nyagaard, who showed an overall rating of 1.24 at the end of the tournament and became the most productive player of PGL Major Antwerp. In the grand final against Natus Vincere, his rating was 1.49, and he was particularly successful on Nuke, racking up 30 frags and leading his team to victory. Other tournament participants competing for the MVP title include – Valery «b1t» Vakhovsky and Alexander «s1mple» Kostylev from NAVI.
