FaZe is close to winning the Intel Grand Slam

The European FaZe, who are now the best team in the world, are close to adding another historic achievement to their trophy list. After topping the PGL Antwerp Major, IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne, the team set its sights on winning the Intel Grand Slam. To do so, it needs to win its next four matches in the ESL Pro League Season 16 playoffs.

If that happens, FaZe will receive the $1,000,000 prize and become the fourth team to win the IGS. Before that, Astralis, Liquid and Natus Vincere became the owners of the trophy. In addition, if FaZe wins the Intel Grand Slam, one of its players, Russell «Twistzz» Van Dulken, will mark another unique achievement: it will turn out that he gets this trophy for the second time. Previously, in 2019, he has already won the IGS with Liquid.

The ESL Pro League Season 16 grid is organized in such a way that Natus Vincere, which has been FaZe's main rival in all recent tournaments, can only meet it in the grand finals if both teams make it through the previous playoff matches. Thus, there is a possibility that it is their BO5 match that will decide whether FaZe will become the winner of the Intel Grand Slam.
