Gambit officials have confirmed that Ivan «F_1N» Kochugov will return as head coach after the ban imposed on him by ESIC expires. He was banned from competing for nine months after a bug was discovered last September that allowed him to see the actions of the opposing team.
As a result, F_1N temporarily took the position of analyst, while the role of coach was taken over by Konstantin «groove» Pikiner. Under his leadership, the team was able to make significant progress, rising from fifteenth position in the world rankings to first and staying at the top for fourteen consecutive weeks.
The team still has to deal with the fact that F1_N is barred from participating in any events organized by Valve, including the latest RMR tournament for CIS countries, which is scheduled to take place later this year. Gambit has stated that groove will once again take the head coach's place in such cases. This also applies to the performance at the PGL Major, if the team qualifies for the main stage.
In the near future, Gambit will have to play in the ESL Pro League. They will play their first match at this tournament on September 1 against Team One.
