On April 12, the final match of ESL Pro League Season 11 took place. It was won by the fnatic team. They beat mousesports 3-2 in a five-card confrontation. In third place was the Danish team Astralis. With this win, fnatic returned to the top 3 of the HLTV rankings. Natus Vincere, despite the underwhelming performance, continue to stay on top of it by a wide margin – they have 876 points, while their closest rivals Astralis – have 804. Fnatic are now in third position in the rankings with 796 points.
The tournament showed that the online format, introduced as a forced measure due to the restrictions associated with the spread of the coronavirus, is justified, and the competitions remain entertaining and interesting for the audience. At the same time, not all players were able to adapt equally to the new format. Some of them noted that online it was more difficult for them to act coherently and demonstrate a good level of play.
The CIS teams performed quite well and showed their competitiveness in the game against top European teams. However, their problem remains the volatility of their results. This also applies to NAVI, who failed to repeat their recent success in Poland.
The next tournament from ESL will start soon. ESL One: Road to Rio kicks off on April 22 .
