Tournament organizer Eden Esports is launching a new tournament series called the Malta Vibes Knockout Series. Starting in August, six competitions are scheduled to be held, with a total of $300,000 in prize money, as well as twelve certificates allowing the team to host a bootcamp in Malta. The first tournament will take place almost immediately after the end of the summer break – in the second half of August.
Malta Vibes will be part of the Elisa Champions of Champions tour, which also includes the Home Sweet Home, Elisa Invitational and Funspark series. Teams will be awarded points that will determine their place in the overall series standings. Leaders will have the opportunity to compete in the final Champions of Champions championship to be held in 2022.
Each of the six Malta Vibes Knockout tournaments will offer $50,000 in prize money. 32 teams will begin the road to victory in the single-elimination format, with another eight teams receiving direct invitations to higher positions in the standings. The organizers noted that they plan to attract teams from different regions of Europe and the CIS. Eden Esports CEO Sergey Bijan said the tournament series will have several notable features, including a new format for tournaments of this magnitude and a more even distribution of the prize pool.
