Brazilian team DETONA was forced to withdraw from CBCS Elite Season 1 one day after the event – the first RMR tournament in South America since the start of 2021. One DETONA player has been accused of owning an account that was banned under VAC for using a skin-swapping tool.
Commenting on the incident, DETONA stated that it will conduct an internal investigation into the allegations, and until then will withdraw from the «event as a demonstration of transparency, fair play and respect for Valve, the event organizers and the eSports community». The team officials also mentioned that the ban in question was imposed before kauez joined its roster in January 2021 and went unnoticed when they checked the player's backstory.
The accusation against kauez comes as bad news for DETONA, who recently signed several promising players and had a successful opening match win over INTZ. Now the results of this game will also be reviewed.
DETONA became already the second team that had to leave CBCS Elite Season 1 for this reason: a few days ago Bears player Mateusz «cidZzZ» Pajber Fao was also accused of having a VAC-ban imposed on his old account.
