American Evil Geniuses, which currently has players from around the world, announced Tuesday that Damien «daps» Steele will become its head coach. Thus, the Canadian cyber athlete will return to Counter Strike after a break that lasted more than half a year.
In his tweet, Damien wrote that he is happy to return to CS: GO and is ready to start working in a new team. Among the players he will coach – Vincent «Brehze» Kayonte and Tsvetelin «CeRq» Dimitrov, with whom he previously played on the same team.
Previously, daps served as an in-game leader for NRG for two years and contributed significantly to the roster that was subsequently signed by Evil Geniuses. Their highest achievement was fourth place in the world rankings and wins at two international tournaments. He later collaborated with Cloud9 and Gen.G for a while, but decided to switch to Valorant in 2020. Now daps will return to the game to which he has devoted eight years.
The main task of daps in his new position – is to try to better unlock the potential of the current squad, which has underperformed in four of the last five tournaments. Evil Geniuses will play under his leadership for the first time at the IEM Cologne Play-In on July 6-7.
