Daps spoke about his reasons for leaving CS GO

Canadian player Damien «Daps» Steele, who decided to end his career in CS:GO and move to Valorant, gave an interview to HLTV, talking about his gaming experience. In total, he spent almost fifteen years in Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and during this time he showed himself many times, playing for Cloud9, Gen.G and other teams. He said the main thing that gave him motivation to keep playing in recent years were LAN events and bootcamps. During the coronavirus pandemic, the opportunity to participate disappeared.

Daps assumes that if the return to the usual format in the coming months will not be possible, online competitions will be mostly moved to Europe, where many North American teams will move.

The player also mentioned that he was considering other career options before moving to Valorant. In particular, he was offered a place in one of the famous teams, but in the end the transfer did not work out for reasons beyond Damien's control. He does not consider a coaching career suitable for him.

According to the cyber athlete, it is wrong to think that players move to Valorant solely because of money. For many of them, their earnings are shrinking, as are the amounts of prize money they can expect to receive. For Daps, the main reason for leaving was a change in personal attitude towards the game.
