With the recent major update to CS2, a new type of item has been introduced into the game – charms. Like skins, they are cosmetic items that do not affect gameplay but allow players to customize the appearance of their weapons. Charms are obtained from special capsules, and they can be attached to any part of the weapon’s body. If desired, they can be repositioned using a special item sold in the store.
What you need to know about charms in CS2?
Currently, there are two series of charms in the game. Small Arms Charms feature miniature replicas of the most recognizable types of weapons. Missing Link Charms are amusing anthropomorphic figurines that depict agents and other characters.
Unlike regular weapon skins, charms, also called charms, are not limited in variety by their shape. Like many ordinary weapon skins, charms have pattern indexes that affect their appearance. However, charms have many more options – possible index values are not thousands, but a whole 100,000. The pattern index value can influence different characteristics of the charm:
The color depends on the range in which the number falls. For example, a charm in the form of an AK-47 with pattern index #12500 will be yellow, and as the number increases, the shade becomes more greenish.
The pattern index value can also affect the brightness of the coloring or other visual effects that impact the appearance of the item.
Of course, the pattern can also affect the coloring of individual elements, such as the bandana on Lil’ Crass or the tongue on Lil’ Monster.
Since the update is recent, the charm market has not yet settled, so their value can change quite unpredictably. If you're lucky, they can be quite profitable. For example, Lil’ SAS with red eyes is worth several hundred times more than versions with other colors, which are considered less notable.
Here are a few examples worth noting right now.
Since knives are among the rarest items in CS2, it's no surprise that charms depicting them have attracted players' attention. For instance, Baby Karat T can be colored bronze or gold: colors with a pattern index under 50000 appear less bright, and in the second half of the range, the surface becomes more golden.
A similar story with AK-47 charms: gold and bright blue specimens can cost more than $50.
For Hot Howl, there are two main variants. The "Fiery" one is rarer because it occurs with pattern index values from 0 to 15000. Exceeding this figure, the figurine becomes more yellow instead of fiery orange.
For Diamond Dog, the index value affects the brightness of the glow. In the lower half of the range, the skin literally shines in various colors, but at values above 50000, it becomes more white and not very bright.
For Diner Dog, the index influences the pattern distribution on the surface. There are many diverse options – for instance, those clearly showing an image of an eye are considered valuable.
It's hard to predict what will exactly catch the players' fancy, especially considering that charms are a completely new item. However, if you are planning to invest in this type of skins, don't miss the opportunity to buy them on Lis-Skins right now! You might just be lucky enough to own rare charms that will increase in value soon.
