CSPAA and ESL agree to improve online tournament schedules

The CSPAA and ESL have reached an agreement to change tournament regulations. The main objective of these adjustments was to improve conditions for players, especially in circumstances where almost all matches are played in an online format. The changes will affect the schedule of competitions that ESL and DreamHack will be hosting in the near future. A group including representatives of the Professional CS:GO Players Association and both tournament organizers worked on them.

In particular, the start time of the match will now be chosen so that it ends earlier than midnight local time. Teams advancing to the semifinals and finals will receive a minimum of three days rest between their first game in the tournament and the rest of the tournament. In addition, additional measures will be taken to avoid delays due to technical reasons during LAN competitions.

CSPAA representatives highly appreciated the results of the cooperation: «We are very pleased to have the opportunity to discuss with ESL and DreamHack the problems related to tournament scheduling. Our work together has been very fruitful, and largely because we have one goal – to make the schedule of CS:GO tournaments more balanced and convenient for all parties».
