The Danish Copenhagen Flames have announced the signing of a new roster, led by Thomas «birdfromsky» Dew-Frederiksen. The organization announced plans to form a new roster back in early June after Niko «nicoodoz» Tamjidi and Fredrik «roeJ» Jorgensen moved to fnatic.
The roster, unofficially named «Flames 3.0», embodies another attempt by the Danish organization to form a successful roster. Over the last two years it has sold more than fifteen players in search of the combination that will allow the team to compete at a high level.
The most experienced members of the new roster – already mentioned birdfromsky and Rasmus «raalz» Steensborg – previously held the position of ingame leader in ECSTATIC and Sprout respectively. They will be joined by Thomas «TMB» Bandsback and Johannes «b0rup» Borap of MAD Lions and Julian «regali» Hariau, formerly of fnatic Rising. Benjamin «cube» Stabell will become the head coach of the team.
«Our goal – is to keep this roster for a longer period of time, to fully utilize our new resources and opportunities, to strengthen our status as one of the best CS:GO clubs in the world," explains Steffen Thomsen, head of Copenhagen Flames. – Next, we will grow our CS:GO division by adding staff in a variety of areas including productivity, data analytics, health, science and technology». According to Philip «tekziNz» Karsbøl, one of the organization's leaders, the team expects to break into the top 30 of the HLTV rankings as quickly as possible.
