Former North players will form a new team

Former Danish Team North players Niklas «gade» Gade, Filip «aizy» Eystrup and Markus «Kjaerbye» Kjaerbye have decided to team up again and have already started looking for a company to support their project. Also joining the new team will be Johannes «b0RUP» Borap and Frederik «Fessor» Sørensen.

Team North ceased operations last month due to financial problems it experienced as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The contracts of aizy and gade continued, but they were eventually allowed to leave the cybersports organization freely. Kjaerbye played for Faze in recent months but was dropped from the active roster in January, making way for Russell «Twistzz» Van Dulken.

The three North players have had to overcome a number of challenges in recent years. They played in the same lineup from September 2018 through May 2020. The team's most notable achievement during this period was winning the DreamHack Open Sevilla in 2020. In mid-2020, Kjaerbye was forced to take a break for medical reasons and then left the North lineup. Soon aizy also dropped out of the active roster, while gade formally remained the leader of the team until its dissolution.

Niklas Gade said that after North ceased its activities, he began to discuss with other players the possibility of getting together again. He expects that they will benefit from similar perspectives on the game and the experience they've already gained from interacting with each other. Now the players are waiting for offers from cybersports organizations that would want to invest in their project.
